Tony Thomas
Tony Thomas is a leading authority in Smart Grid and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) cybersecurity, bringing over forty years of experience in energy automation engineering. Tony has been instrumental in shaping the evolution of secure grid technologies. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel and advised U.S. Department of Energy initiatives through collaborations with Pacific Northwest, National Renewable, and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. A pioneer in the early deployment of Smart Grid systems, Tony has worked globally to extend these technologies to rural and underserved communities. Before his retirement, he served as Senior Principal Engineer at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), where he guided utilities in strengthening cybersecurity and system resilience.
